Does She Remember

This morning I was thinking about Cara and all the daily changes she has made in her life in such a short amount of time.  It has only been 2.5  months since her type 1 diagnose but it feels like forever.  I was wondering if she even REMEMBERS the way it use to be?

does she remember eating without restrictions and measuring

does she remember when her finger tips did not bleed

does she remember eating only when she is hungry and not because her blood sugar is low

does she remember not being different from all the other kids

does she remember playing outside freely without any worry of  lows

does she remember being able to enjoy a meal without knowing a shot was coming

does she remember being frighten of needles

does she remember not knowing every second of the day when, what and how much she is going to eat

does she remember when meal time did not begin with a finger pick and end with a shot of insulin

does she remember how it feels not to have highs and lows

does she remember being scared of the hospital

does she remember not having to be so brave every second of the day

does she remember  looking into my eyes and not seeing sadness

does she remember who she was before diabetes
